Within the urban plan designed by Jeanne Dekkers Architectuur we designed 1A. This multifunctional apartment building contains a large supermarket and 83 apartments of which 13 quay houses. It is the first phase of the future developments along the water of the Westhavendijk and it gives the future area identity along the beltway of Goes.
1A has an height accent along the water and it refers in style to the old rational harbor architecture that once stood here. A rigid raster of warm bricks gives space to large windows and spacious balconies, the building is detailed with a variety of brick patterns. The building aims for a high sustainability; it combines STES with an ice buffer-system, solaraircollectors and solarpanels. All apartments are optimally oriented towards the water or the south, additionally all apartments can use the collective terras on top of the supermarket.
